Author Joshua Valdez has won 2nd place for Favorite Local Writer at the 2023 Watermark's Wave Awards for his debut novella "Falling In Love In The Burg."

Valdez's debut novella, "Falling In Love In The Burg," is a heartwarming and humorous story that features a diverse cast of characters, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, and explores themes of love, identity, and acceptance.
